HISTORYOrganizational meetings for the CTPC began in the Fall of 1981 with the first regular meeting was held in March 1982. Meetings were held originally on the third Tuesdays of the month at the Stamford Computerland on High Ridge Rd. Dues were $5.00 in those days. We quickly outgrew Computerland and moved to Waldenbooks, just up the road. We outgrew that very soon and settled at the Darien Public Library until 1990 when we returned to the Stamford Tara Hotel. General meetings of the CTPC are now at Norwalk Transit District Offices, 275 Wilson Avenue in Norwalk. The first newsletter was dated April 12, 1982. When IBM started user group relations, we were there. Alan Ashton, from Satellite Software International, showed us his new program which automated word processing, called WordPerfect. Microsoft gave us a demo of Windows before they knew what it was. And now we are riding on the Information superhighway.
