Toward a Better Computing Experience |
Ben Wilson, CTPC Program Chair |
Fourteen members from the CTPC and FCUG computer clubs made a tour of the Palace Digital Studio facility in South Norwalk, CT on April 9, 2008.
The Palace Digital Studios is a 25 year old firm that is a leading provider of high quality video editing, audio recording, and computer graphics animation services to the area’s top advertising agencies, broadcast and cable television networks and independent producers. The tour was arranged to make our members aware of the wealth of talent, activity and excellence in the lower Fairfield County working in the computer graphics and the animation field.
The tour was conducted by Deb Ryan Director of New Business Development and consisted of observing the engineers working on creating and editing programs for the television industry. We saw work being done for CNBC, and also a TV show “Young American Heroes”. This program invites middle school teachers and their students to give their creative input on the television script that will be shown by Connecticut Public Television. We enjoyed seeing the application of computer technology in at this very busy and innovative company. Our appreciation to Deb Ryan and the Palace Digital Studios staff for their courtesy and a most interesting visit.
